Hi, my name is Caitlin. I am 25yrs old and I currently work as a Clinical Social Worker. I work in a field where the power of our mind compels and motivates us to grow beyond our limits. I believe that there is a strong mind-body connection. We must care for one, so the other can thrive. I have a love for psychology and the impact of eating healthy, staying active, and doing what we love have on our mental well-being.

I have always loved running. I have ran on and off since I was 14yrs old, but was sidelined due to multiple ankle injuries. I am a strong believer that if I put my mind to something, my body will follow-suit. I have conquered these injuries and have come back to running with full-speed. I plan on running my first official race this year. I have 2 5Ks, 1 10K, and a 15K planned for this fall. I am now going to take my body and stretch it beyond it’s limits, because I BELIEVE THAT I CAN DO THIS!

For the last year, I also have finally taken hold on my personal health. I have always been physically active, but my eating was not always the best. I had very little knowledge of the impact of my eating regimen until I discovered I had high cholesterol at 23yr old. I was not overweight by anymeans, but exercise was just not cutting it. I found a great community of healthy-oriented people online, which helped support me through these changes. Also, I began to eat veggies, fruits, and grains again and cut out all high-frutose corn syrup, processed foods, and hydrogenated oils from my world. Within 6months, my cholesterol dropped and I also lost 10-15lbs along with the dietary changes.

I would never turn back from these life changes and I want to be able to continue to blog about my healthier world. I would like you to follow me and see how my mental determination has gotten me through injuries and health obstacles and led me to this better place in life.
